Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf We know from best
practice that children retain information that is pertinent to them. As
young children, their first encounter with wolves is through Little Red
Riding Hood and The Three Little Pigs. This four week unit allows students
to make an in-depth study of an endangered species, the gray wolf, and
will dispel the fictional myth.

Simulating and Experience The Jason Project The JASON Project takes students and teachers on real-world expeditions via the Internet, where they also can share experiences and research with other classes doing the same work. 4H Children’s Garden Kids’ Tour Our goal is to elegantly integrate technology to extend the benefits of the garden to make it accessible worldwide, anytime day or night, winter or summer. It will allow parents, teachers, and kids to visit the virtual garden before and after going to the real garden.

Publishing and Creating
The National Math Trail National Math Trail is an Internet-based project for K-12 teachers and students to discover and share the math that exists in their own environments. Students explore their communities and create one or more math problems that relate to what they find. Teachers submit the problems to the National Math Trail site, along with photos, drawings, sound recordings, videos--whatever can be adapted to the Internet. Quilting and Geometry-Patterns for Living A unit designed to provide opportunities for practical application and problem solving of geometric concepts, as well as communicating and developing mathematical reasoning.
